Things to Do When You're Bored

Boredom is a slow killer. Once you sink into it recovering from the effects is never easy. You will have trouble concentrating and your work will suffer, however there is no easy fix. Here are some ideas that will keep you busy and allow you to have some fun:
• Get yourself a Rubik's cube and start playing with it whenever you have some free time on your hands. Even if you do manage to solve it once, chances are that you will take your time solving it every time.
• bucky balls are the latest play thing for the bored. They are magnets that can be shaped, molded and snapped together in anyway. Unleash your creativity and make any shapes or something useful for your desk.
• Fire up Wikipedia or Wise Geek. Type in something interesting and weird then find out everything you can about it. Try learning about topics like bucky balls or Tokidoki fashions. Not only can you learn new information but you can be informed in front of your friends.
• Start a blog where you can vent without anyone knowing. You will no doubt find someone that is just as bored as you to comment on your blog. If your boss is a blogger when bored be sure you don't say anything negative against him. However, in case your boss blogs when bored, watch what you say about him.
• Play an online word game like scrabble. If your boss catches you, you can always tell him or her that you're working on developing your vocabulary. Don't try your bosses patience in case he doesn't have a sense of humor.
• Find a self-help eBook to read in your free time. If you don't like those you can check out the latest novel from one of your favorite writers. Reading will stimulate your mind.
• Find some cartoon strips. Studies suggest that the more a person laughs the more their brain is stimulated and able to function quickly.
There is so much more which you can do with your idle time. However, rather than spending it on a mindless activity, make sure to invest it in something which will grow your horizons and help you excel at work, even if you hate your boss.
